Pink Angels: Because No One Should Walk Alone
Breast cancer diagnosis can leave you feeling frightened, overwhelmed, and in disbelief. In those first moments of shock, your mind may go blank—but what you need most, beyond treatment, is someone to walk beside you on this journey, offering guidance, care, and unwavering support.
Facing the unknown, it’s natural to feel anger, fear, despair, or even hopelessness. Some spend sleepless nights scouring books and websites, desperately searching for answers to ease their fears. Yet what truly makes a difference is the reassurance of those who have been there before. Peer support can ease anxiety, empower patients to face treatment with courage, and guide them toward recovery.
Pink Angels: Your Companions in the Fight
As survivors, we understand that chemotherapy is often the longest, toughest, and most physically and emotionally gruelling phase of cancer treatment. The frequent hospital visits add strain not only to patients but also to their families and caregivers. We know the weight of your struggles—and we are here to walk with you, easing the burden as you fight this battle.
We are committed to improving support for women with breast cancer, advocating for more specialized care so that no matter where they are, patients can access the latest and best resources as quickly as possible.
In 2016, the Global Chinese Breast Cancer Organizations Alliance (GCBC) was registered as a charitable organization in Hong Kong, establishing its headquarters here. Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to initiatives that benefit local patients, including the launch of Pink Angels Hong Kong—a pioneering volunteer team offering free chemotherapy companionship and emotional support, a service unmatched in the region. Over the years, we expanded our programs to include the Pink Hotline, online support groups and Pink Chatrooms. In 2022, we introduced lymphedema management services, followed in 2023 by one-on-one professional counselling and medical consultation for patients in need.
Our efforts have been recognized with the Social Capital Builder Logo Award from the Hong Kong Labour and Welfare Bureau for six consecutive years (2018–2024), a testament to the impact of the Pink Angels Service on patients and their families. In 2025, we also received the “Champion for Good – Gold Award” by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for excellence in health and mental health services.
